As with most people my memories of my early childhood are blurry at
best. One thing I do remember clearly is sitting around a campfire singing. Singing a song
about a great ship that sank. The song haunted me then. It still haunts me today...
Oh, they built a ship Titanic
to sail the ocean blue.
And they thought they had a ship
that the water wouldn't go through.
It was on its maiden trip
when an iceberg hit the ship.
It was sad when the great ship went down.
Boom...boom...boom.
Uncles and aunts
little children lost their pants.
It was sad when the great ship went down.
Boom...boom...boom.
Irish people came aboard
with very little dough.
So they put them down below
where they'd be the first to go.
Husbands and wives
little children lost their lives.
It was sad when the great ship went down.
Boom...boom...boom.

Arrogance. Ineffective laws. Stupidity. Bad luck. Flaunting God. You can blame any or
all of these factors and find more of your own. The fact is on April 15, 1912 over 1500
souls lost their lives in the most remembered and documented maritime disaster of all
time. Not the largest disaster by far, but the most remembered.
Man was shown to be fallible.

Very fallible
Over 2200 people embarked on this "Ship of Dreams". Perhaps "Ship of
Nightmares" would have been more appropriate.

...it was sad when the great ship went down.
